I presume from your question you are considering an online panel.
We are introducing Salesforce communities and that will include the ability to capture ideas for product and process improvement. We use Salesforce extensively and are great believers in a single customer view. This integrated capability is one more means of enhancing our knowledge of individual customers and thereby server them better. Whatever you choose, I would advise integration with your customer database a key capability.
Other platforms worth looking include Lithium, Jive and GetSatisfaction.
