Tammy Nelson is the chief marketing officer for SageSure Insurance Managers (SageSure), where she is responsible for leading marketing, sales and customer experience.
Nelson brings a strong background in marketing and sales to her position as head of marketing and sales for SageSure, the largest independent residential property managing general underwriter in the U.S. The company is committed to providing innovative property insurance solutions in America’s most challenging markets and Nelson shares the company’s knack for finding creative ways to meet and exceed customer needs. She is particularly passionate about leading the alignment of strategy, customer experience and brand.
Before joining SageSure in 2016, Nelson was chief customer experience officer at American Modern Insurance Group, part of Munich Re. In that role, she was responsible for marketing, communications, customer experience and innovation/digital. In addition, she led marketing, communications and digital for EyeMed Vision Care, the fastest-growing vision benefits company in the country. Prior to that, Nelson spent nearly 12 years heading marketing and sales for Ameriprise Auto & Home Insurance which, at the time, was the fastest-growing auto insurance company in the country.
In addition to her career in the insurance industry, Nelson is an entrepreneur on a mission to empower others and spread happiness. She is the founder of Hoi Polloi Trends which creates gifts that use the power of words to inspire and also create2connect productions which supports empowerment through the arts. She holds seven patents, three trademarks and runs a philanthropic program that supports and amplifies the voices of those spreading happiness and kindness.
Nelson is an active leader in her community. She regularly speaks at marketing, customer experience and insurance-related events and is also an author. In 2015, she graduated from the Leadership Cincinnati Program, while also earning her CCXP designation and was featured in the inaugural edition of “Who’s Who in Customer Experience” published by the Customer Experience Professionals Association (CXPA).
In 2016, Nelson was selected as Chief Marketing Officer of the Year by The Cincinnati Business Courier C-Suite Awards, a program honoring top executives in Greater Cincinnati whose skills and leadership have helped shape success for their companies. In 2019, Digital Insurance recognized her with their Women in Insurance Leadership Award, which honors the most dynamic, innovative female leaders in the insurance industry.
