Durga Puja

This festival pays homage to the Hindu goddess Durga. During the celebrations in India streets are decked up with festive lights, loudspeakers play festive songs as well as recitation of hymns and chants by priests, and pandals are erected by communities. The roads become overcrowded with devotees, and pandal-hoppers visiting the pandals on puja days.
