Industry legend Bruce Temkin flew into London to pick up the Lifetime Achievement Award at the International Customer Experience Awards (ICXAs). The black-tie ceremony took place at the Park Plaza London Riverbank, and was attended by over 250 leading CX and EX professionals from around the world.

“Thank you so much for this award — it truly means a lot to me,” said Bruce Temkin.

“Customer and employee experience is all about changing behaviors and shaping the culture of an organisation, which is no small feat. That’s why ceremonies like this are so important—they shine a light on the impact and ROI of exceptional work in these areas. Keep up the amazing work, everyone!” he added.

Temkin, a graduate of both London Business School and the MIT Sloan School of Management is widely credited as being one of the founding fathers of customer experience thinking. During his career he co-founded and chaired the Customer Experience Professionals Association, while simultaneously running his own successful CX consultancy.

He continues to be an enthusiastic blogger on all things customer and employee experience. Until January this year he was the global head of the Qualtrics XM Institute. Temkin is now pursuing his next big project, Humanity@Scale.

“Bruce Temkin’s contribution to CX is immense,” said Neil Skehel, chief executive officer, Awards International, organizer of the International Customer Experience Awards.

“Bruce has played a pivotal role developing CX as a business practice, whether it’s because of his definitive work as one of the founders of CXPA, or more recently in his thought leadership role at Qualtrics XM. Every time he speaks about customer or employee experience we should listen. There is still so much to learn!,” he added.

The ICXA is the original and largest celebration of CX around the world. This year’s event brought together finalists from Central America, Europe, Middle East and Asia.

Founded in 2009 the CXA began in the UK and now operates in the Middle East, North America, Europe and Africa. Entrants and judges from 88 countries have so far participated in the awards.
